This client had a very specific vision of the finish on this renovation. The home was built in 1936. The main goal was to ensure that the finished space blended with the existing architecture. I incorporated the arch & column theme into the construction of the walls that hold the windows. As the interior theme was to be nautical, we painted all white except for the wood ceiling which received a clear polyurethane finish to let the natural wood color show though. One obstacle was the bushes that lined the exterior of the room. We selected slider windows because casement windows would not fully open due to the bushes. I installed a tile floor, added electrical receptacles & a ceiling fan. We decided to replace the garage columns; they were also deteriorated.
