This family room needed a breath of fresh air both figuratively & literally. The potential to join this space with the large screened porch was great. Installing a new french, out-swing door system achieved this. The new 6 ft. opening created the feeling that the outside had been brought in. Incorporating new trim designs & painting all of the trim work lightened the room tremendously while giving is a fresh look. New ash hardwoods were installed using 3” & 5” widths, a dry stacked cultured stone was applied over the brick fireplace & can lights with dimmer switches were added to accent the room.
An exciting new audio visual system was also added. It included a 52” LCD flat screen TV, complete surround sound audio & the first portion of a home automation system called Control 4. Control 4 uses a completely wireless system that has the capability of automating virtually any home component anywhere in the home using only a remote control.
