Remodeling & Home Improvements

Character & Craftsmanship

This home was built in the 1960’s.  The interior had not been touched since the original construction.   I was familiar with this house because this is the second project I have completed for the homeowners.  The ideas started flowing at the initial meeting.

The master bath was very dated.  It only had 1 sink for the homeowners to share, the shower felt small & cramped, and there was no bath ventilation to remove shower moisture.  The homeowners felt comfortable with the existing size of the bath.

My design elements incorporated the use of glass block in the shower to bring in natural light from the bath window, raising the shower ceiling, adding a shallow wall cabinet above the toilet added storage.   We liked the idea of the pocket door at the bath entrance.  A pocket door adds an average of 10 square feet of floor space, over a traditional hinged door.

While completing this project, I also added built in entertainment center on the first floor, around the wood burning fireplace.   Finally, I refinished the hardwood flooring throughout the   1 st level.
