“....timelines were met and there were no financial surprises.” - Amy
Kwas & Mat Delillo, Carmel, IN
Overall, it was a great experience. We tackled these three projects at a
really busy time of year for us personally so sticking to a timeline and
avoiding chaos was really important. He took good time on the front end to
fully comprehend the scope of the project and presented us with a very
detailed proposal from a financial, product and timing perspective.
He even went so far as to tell us on the front end that there was one
unknown and explained to us what that was so there would be no surprises
along the way. Every day during the project the house was left clean. Subcontractors
were polite, showed up on time and finished on time. One
contractor even told us how important timelines were to Matt which showed
us how serious he is about his work. In the end, the projects exceeded our
expectations, timelines were met and there were no financial surprises.
The Home Wright performed three services for us. Matt completely
redesigned a built-in-bookshelf to be more functional for our family. The final
product far exceeded our expectations. He also installed ceiling fans and
lights in our bedrooms as there was no overhead lighting at all. Finally, he
did a complete master bath remodel that turned out beautifully. It's
attractive and functional. Matt thought of many little details that would have
never occurred to us in all projects. Exterior Project-
This is the second time we used Matt & it went really well. This job was smaller than
previous work and likely smaller than future work but the quality and responsiveness
was still there. The work added a ton of visual appeal to the house and was well worth
it. After the concrete was poured Matt noticed a small puddling area on the step. Matt
demands the highest quality and had it redone promptly. I appreciate the attention to
detail and willingness to fix problems areas quickly.
“ When it was time for our summer vacation, we gave Matt our security alarm code and
he was kind enough to turn our alarm on and off each day during our absence. We
enjoyed our vacation much more knowing that things were secure at home and that we
could trust Matt to take care of things for us.”
Hank & Sandy Pietras - Carmel, IN
We had been tossing around the idea of remodeling our kitchen for about a year,
but when we had water damage to our hardwood floor from ice damming, we decided
that there would never be a better time for the remodel. We didn't hesitate on whom we
would have complete the job. Matt Wright helped us with our basement remodel and
because it went so smoothly, he was our natural choice for this job as well.
At our initial consultation, we told Matt that our overall goal was to make our
kitchen seem larger. He gave us great ideas and suggestions. After finalizing our
plans, we received Matt's detailed proposal for the project. Because we had received a
quote from our insurance adjustor for the repair work, we were able to confirm that
Matt's pricing was fair.
Matt gave us a detailed schedule of what was to occur each day and it was
amazing how closely he stuck to that schedule. And if there was a tweak here or there
in the schedule, Matt always let us know ahead of time. Communication with his clients
seems to be very important to Matt. We once had an experience with a builder where
after we signed the contract, we never heard from him again. After signing we only met
with his supervisors and workers. This was definitely not the case with The
HomeWright.
Matt was at our house checking on things at least once each day, and often,
several times a day. And if we weren't at home when Matt was there, he would follow
up with a phone call, text message, or email that same day.
During the kitchen remodel, Matt discovered some insulation problems with our
external walls. He recommended the proper solution to the problem and had the
unforeseen repairs made efficiently and economically. We were even able to stay on
schedule. We are impressed with Matt's problem-solving skills and do not feel like we
were taken advantage of.
We became very comfortable with Matt and his contractors working in our home
while we weren't there. Everyone was professional, courteous, and cleaned up after
themselves at the end of the day, which was important to us since were were living in
the home during the remodel. When it was time for our summer vacation, we gave Matt
our security alarm code and he was kind enough to turn our alarm on and off each day
during our absence. We enjoyed our vacation much more knowing that things were
secure at home and that we could trust Matt to take care of things for us.
In our opinion, Matt is a very organized, reliable, and trustworthy person who
pays close attention to details. We are very pleased with our kitchen remodel and home
repairs. We are already thinking about a master bath remodel and we will definitely call
The HomeWright LLC again.
“A tremendous value and a job well done.” - Bob & Suzie Stanis, Indianapolis, IN
I have more than 25 years experience in construction ranging from
high-end residential to high rise to schools to Federal facilities. In many
respects I can be the worst sort of buyer of home building because I know
what I am talking about and I am very opinionated. Matt Wright came
through with flying colors.
He stood up for what he thought was the correct approach when he
thought that I was wrong and changed my mind on how to proceed. His
knowledge of construction is exceptional and he knows how to get the best
bang for the buck. When I wanted to add an inch of board insulation behind
the new siding, Matt showed me how it would have a greater payback (and
cost less) by adding blown-in insulation in the attic. Other contractors that I
interviewed and who provided proposals were nowhere near as
knowledgeable and never challenged me when I wasn't using the best
approach. I whole-heartedly recommend using The HomeWright. Though I
had a bid that was about $1,000 lower (~2%), the additional cost was well
worth it. Correctly reworking and salvaging existing windows alone made the
cost worth it.
Our home had T-1-11 siding, which isn't much more than pretty
plywood. It was delaminating, bubbling, and rotting. We had leaks I knew of,
and some Matt found, documented, proposed a fair price for, and fixed. All
stable T-1-11 remained, and the bad areas were replaced with plywood.
Then a housewrap was added and the Hardie planks were installed over the
housewrap. All trim was done in cedar. All areas were reflashed. The rakes
were extended to match the soffits. The existing shingles were removed
from the roof and all soffits and gutterboards were replaced. Areas that
didn't drain well were reworked and a few rotten boards were replaced.
Flashing at the chimney was done correctly for the first time in the life of the
house. Everything received new paint including priming that occurred on any
Hardie plank cuts, etc.
A tremendous value and a job well done. I received proposals from
two firms that came recommended from friends. Each came highly
recommended, but basically just priced up my ideas. I was ready to go with
the lower of the two prices. Due to Chase Bank messing up the home equity
loan (and Fifth-Third getting it done in 1 week), the delay resulted in my
fortunately running across a lawn sign for The HomeWright while out walking
the dog. I spoke with the home owner who (incorrectly) described the work
performed. Not a construction guy.
Figuring that I had nothing to lose, I looked up The HomeWright's web page
and discovered that this other house had work similar to what I needed. I
invited Matt over the next day and we spent several hours discussing the
work required and the ideas that I had. Matt sometimes agreed and
sometimes didn't, but he always had good reasons when he didn't. He talked
me out of the insulation board, which was a bad idea. When the price came
in between the other two bids, and barely above the low bid, I knew I had
my contractor. Work started late last year, but we knew in advance that the
painting would likely have to await the spring. Matt always called with
progress updates and to see if we had concerns. When a hidden condition,
like areas of rot, was discovered, the proposed solution was good and the
price was right. Gouging on extras is some contractor's lifeblood -- no Matt's.
He was fair in all cases, even telling me on some of my requests that he had
included it all along because it was the right approach. When work was
completed this spring we were ecstatic. Our neighbors are quite pleased too
as the house was pretty beaten up looking. During the winter we added
some indoor work which also went very well. Aside from the updates and fair
pricing, perhaps the best thing was that the workers arrived when Matt said
they would and they stayed until the job was done. This guy knows what he
is doing.
“...throughout the project he operated in his usual attentive and responsive manner.”
Adam & Jenny R - Fishers
Exterior Project-
This is our third project working with Matt.
While obtaining other bids for this project,
Matt was the most responsive in answering our follow up questions and throughout the
project he operated in his usual attentive and responsive manner. We are very happy
with the end product. While it is never fun to spend money on windows, we feel
confident that the work Matt's crew performed will ensure less exterior maintenance on
our part in the future.
Master Bathroom-
Matt and his team did a great job our kitchen remodel in late 2009, and we engaged them to remodel our master bathroom during late spring of 2010. The bathroom job was a complete remodel, with most of the bathroom being taken down to studs.
The job included removal, relocation or replacement of interior walls, an existing
tub, shower, vanity, mirrors, and light fixtures, and then the installation of a new custom
double shower, a new tub, a new vanity, all new electrical, all new plumbing, and new
fixtures. The project also included a tremendous amount of detailed tile work, all of
which turned out great.
Matt designed the overall new layout of the bathroom, and he provided valuable
insight into material selections. He was able to save us some money by using granite
leftover from our kitchen remodel.
The project went great. Matt was flexible with regard to material selection and
worked hard to stay within our budget. Throughout the project, Matt remained very
responsive, trustworthy, and communicative. The end result looks fantastic, same as
with our kitchen remodel.
My wife and I both work full time, and we greatly value the fact that we can hire
Matt, know that he is going to do a good job on time and on budget, know that he will
call if he has a question, but otherwise we can stay out of his way. We had no
reservations leaving our home with Matt and his crew unsupervised. They always
cleaned up and were polite.
Matt provided us a schedule at the beginning of the project and stuck to it. He did
a very good job of notifying us when certain work would be done, and worked hard to
make sure we were happy. We would gladly recommend Matt to friends and family.
“I made a couple of surprise visits home during the day & everyone was always
working & doing what they were supposed to be doing.”
Brian & Yvonne Lafary - Indianapolis, IN
We brought in a couple of project consultants and we interviewed them. It was a
difficult process for us to make a decision because the project could go many different
ways. We chose Matt because we liked our initial meeting with him, he took the time to
explain his experience, his work ethics, process, and high level game plan based up on
our needs.
We felt like we could trust Matt from the beginning. In addition, we read
some other reference material other customers wrote about Matt that indicated he
provided quality work and was on time. We felt these were our two most important
qualities in a contractor because we have two little kids and we needed to stick to a tight
schedule since our lives were going to be turned upside down without a kitchen for 6
weeks.
After we chose Matt, we moved into a detailed scope phase where we drilled
down into more specifics. Got into a design phase & then was able to start talking
dollars. We liked how his estimate was middle of the road & he would provide regular
updates throughout the project on where we stood in regards to the budget based upon
the decisions we made on cabinets, floors, lighting, etc.... because you can either save
money by the choices you make or spend a lot more. We always knew where we stood
at any given time.
Matt has a good team of vendors that have great product knowledge and you can
tell they worked well together with Matt. We had an issue with the cabinet guy because
his glass vendor went out of business on him without telling him. The cabinet vendor
took action and was able to get in the glass from a new vendor in a reasonable amount
of time.
My wife & I both work and we had Matt & his team in the house just about every
day for 6 weeks and never had any issues or felt uncomfortable. I made a couple of
surprise visits home during the day & everyone was always working & doing what they
were supposed to be doing.
Just as promised, Matt was able to stay on schedule as planned. We only had 1
or 2 super minor follow up items past the due date but everything was up & running on
the day promised; we just had to wait on 1 piece of glass for a cabinet & also had to
wait on some specialized hardware for our dry bar that we ordered.
Finally, communication was great from the beginning to the end. Matt and I were
communicating just about every day via email and/or phone. He quickly returned any
messages I left and he made himself available on weekends if needed.
In summary, I highly recommend The HomeWright LLC.
“...he treats each project as if it is a project in his own home.” - Calvin &
Abbey Chambers, Indianapolis, IN
Matt Wright and The HomeWright, LLC recently completed a remodeling
project for my wife and I and we are extremely pleased with the experience and
the finished product. We gutted and remodeled our entire kitchen, installed
hardwood floors (replacing carpet), and repainted in our kitchen, dining room,
hallway, and half-bathroom. It was a big project for us and Matt handled it
extremely well! Working with Matt was a pleasure.
From the moment that we met Matt, he was professional, punctual, and
communicative. One of the things that we really liked about him right off the bat
was that he came to the table with ideas and helped us with several design
issues.
Throughout the process, Matt was very well organized and kept us informed
every step of the way. If anything did come up where additional work was
necessary, Matt always called to have us approve the work before he started on
it. He was always careful to explain the situation and give us his best
recommendation. We trusted Matt entirely and were always grateful for his
advice. Something that meant a lot to us was that Matt said that he treats each
project as if it is a project in his own home. He exemplified that throughout the
project. Also, at the beginning of our project, we were struggling to find a
particular product that we really liked from Matt's list of preferred vendors. As a
result, Matt took the time to find and start a partnership with a new vendor where
we could purchase exactly what we wanted. We know that Matt has strong
relationships with his preferred vendors, so it meant a lot to us that he went out of
his way, not using one of his preferred vendors, so that we could be completely
satisfied with our kitchen.
As the work progressed, we found Matt's subcontractors/partners to be
good, honest people who respected our home. They executed the remodel plans
that we had developed with Matt, and they all did an excellent job of cleaning up
their messes throughout the process.
Overall, the quality of work that we received from Matt and his crew was
outstanding, and we are completely satisfied with the outcome. In fact, we have
already recommended Matt and The HomeWright, LLC to several people that we
know.
“Our project was completed on time and the work was exceptional.” -
Marty & Christy Nowlin, Carmel, IN
We had a wonderful experience working with Matt! From the very
beginning he was extremely organized and reliable. He was in constant
contact with us through the whole remodel process and was always available
to answer our questions. He offered great suggestions that we ended up
using in our project that added a lot of beauty and design to our bathroom.
As a stay at home mom with two small children, I especially
appreciated that he explained the long working relationships he had with the
craftsmen that would be in our home. We felt so comfortable with Matt and
his team that we ended up leaving on vacation the last week of the project.
It was so nice to come home to a completed and beautiful bathroom.
Our project was completed on time and the work was exceptional. We
will use Matt in the future for our home projects and I cannot recommend
him highly enough.
“...intimately involved with the project from beginning to end...”
- Al & Lynn Larsen, Carmel, IN
Having worked in the construction industry previously, I was a bit skeptical about contractors in general because of their reputation and their failure to live up to their word in terms of price, service and quality. Matt was great to work with right from the beginning.
Not only was he intimately involved with the project from beginning to end, he has great subs working for him. When we were told the materials would be delivered on a certain day and time, the materials were there. When we were told that the painters would arrive by 8:30 a.m. tomorrow, they were there.
We are thoroughly pleased with our new guest bedroom and are already thinking about the next project that we can hire Matt and The HomeWright to complete.
“....was very considerate of the inconvenience a master bath remodel can be for
homeowners.”
- Jon & Gigi Griffin, Carmel, IN
We hired Matt Wright to completely remodel our master bath. We selected Matt as we
felt that he took time to understand what we were looking for, offered his ideas and
suggestions and provided us with a very detailed estimate. As we anticipated selecting
some upgrades throughout the process (tile, stone, fixtures, etc.), knowing the details of
the bid allowed us to make informed decisions in selecting upgrades while staying
within our overall budget.
Our overall experience was outstanding. Matt was extremely communicative throughout
the process and always very responsive to our requests. As others have stated, Matt is
always on time for his appointments, very professional and courteous and treats your
home as if it were his own. Matt does sub-contract much of the work, but he was on-site
every day and works with crews that he has known for years. All of his crews were very
professional and respectful of our home. Matt provided a detailed schedule at the
beginning of the project so we would know which crews would be on-site each day.
During the project, some supplies were delayed, but Matt worked diligently to keep the
overall project on schedule and was very considerate of the inconvenience a master
bath remodel can be for homeowners.
Our bathroom project was rather extensive. The end-result exceeded our expectations.
While we did our homework and were well-prepared for the remodeling, Matt gave us a
lot of great ideas that we were able to incorporate.
I would definitely recommend Matt for similar projects and would work with him
again on future home improvement projects.
“Everything in the process was so easy...” - Jon & Kelly Sarn, Zionsville,
IN
This was the best experience we ever had! Matt came in and looked at
the space and then got our ideas. He then put together a VERY detailed
proposal that laid out each step, timing and cost along with a picture of the
room.
He also had allowances for items like lighting and flooring which we could
increase/decrease according to our tastes. His proposal was the only one to
take advantage of the alcoves in the room, which were tricky and other
contractors told us it would just be cheaper to close them off. Matt designed
built in shelves in one of the alcoves and a dress up changing area in the
other. He is the only contractor that sent a thank you note for allowing him
to bid the project and state how much he would enjoy the work. He felt like
a trusted friend from day one!
Matt bid on the job to finish out a bonus room next to our daughter's
room. The room is 10x15 and we received several bids from contractors. We
wanted to drywall the room to get maximum usage while also making it a
comfortable space for the kids to play and hang-out in. The bids we received
ranged in price from $3,500 - $16,000 with contractors who had very
different ideas of what would be entailed. We learned a lot from the different
proposals and while we could have done it cheaper, it would not have been
the same and I am certain it would not have been done on time and on
budget as it was with HomeWright.
Matt stuck exactly to the schedule and cost proposal exactly - when he
said he would be there, he was there. His team, though they are
subcontractors, are like his employees. They were very professional, polite
and you could barely tell they were in the house. They showed up when they
said they would, did their work and then cleaned up each night before they
left. Matt was very accessible and we would usually reach him on our first
try. When we had to leave a message, he would call us back usually within
the hour. Very responsive, very patient and completely concerned with our
satisfaction and happiness.
We are so happy with the way the room turned out and our girls love
the space. Everything in the process was so easy and we are still amazed on
how each day the assigned task was completed and the whole job was
finished within the estimate. We look forward to using Matt again in the
future.
“We are a dual-income household and Matt made sure we were aware of when workers would be in the house. We had complete trust in Matt, his staff, and sub-contractors.”
Ray & Gachia Hoefer - Carmel, IN
We contacted Matt concerning exterior paint, siding, windows, doors, and gutters. He
was clear on when he could fit us into his schedule. I had assumed it would be best to
reside the entire house, but Matt recommended replacing siding on only two sides of the
house, which saved considerable cost. He also recommended that only two windows
needed to be replaced, and we agreed to replace the main front door and all gutters.
Matt provided a very detailed proposal and spent the time with us to understand our
needs and wants and to make sure we understood what was included in the proposal
and how cost was determined.
During the project, we also had Matt coordinate the installation of a new island
countertop, cook top and built-in double oven on a time and material basis. We also
had an unknown amount of termite / rot damage on one corner of the house prior to the
start of the project. Matt was very clear on how this would be handled and assured us
he would be fair in time and material charges once the extent of the issue was
identified. The Porter Paint consultant then walked us through the color selection
process, Matt worked with us on door, counter top and appliance selections, and we
were on our way.
Matt is an excellent, pro-active communicator and kept us abreast of slight
adjustments to schedule and status of all work. When we did have questions, he
quickly returned text, e-mail and calls if he was not immediately available. He gave us
clear timelines for decisions on paint, window and appliance choices and also made
sure we met our timelines to keep the project on track.
We were pleased that he met the original estimate of when our project would
start and finish. The extent of the termite / rot damage was identified once siding was
removed, and Matt was indeed very fair on time and material charges.
We are a dual-income household and Matt made sure we were aware of when
workers would be in the house. We had complete trust in Matt, his staff, and subcontractors.
We are very pleased with the quality of the work, including gutters, siding,
windows and paint. We have received numerous positive comments on the work from
neighbors and walkers.
“...willing to do whatever he could to give us the updated master bathroom we
wanted.” - Carl & Carolyn Dalstrom, Carmel, IN
Kitchen
This was our second project with TheHomeWright. We chose Matt again because of our extreme satisfaction with our first remodel (master bath).
He and his team are professional, efficient, skilled, honest and trustworthy. From start to finish Matt kept us informed of all aspects of the project. His calendar and estimates were right on! We are totally pleased with the results and wouldn't hesitate to use him again!
Master Bath
We began with a personal meeting with Matt Wright. We found Matt honest and responsible, willing to do whatever he could to give us the updated master bathroom we
wanted. After listening to us and showing us pictures of other bathroom remodels that
he has done, Matt provided us with a complete summary of costs for goods and
services and explained everything to us, patiently answering all of our questions. He wasn't the cheapest bid we got, but we found his bid the most believable.
There were no hidden costs, or last minute increases. The work began on schedule and
Matt showed up everyday on time and with a crew of workmen that were responsible,
punctual and professional. From the beginning, prepping our stairway to the final
painting, Matt was in charge, kept us informed, and knew exactly what needed to be
done. He was pickier than we were!
It was an amazingly easy remodel, even finishing before estimated! And the end
result is perfect!
“...knowledgeable, insightful and honest with his assessments of how he can
help.” - Larry Russell, Carmel, IN
I engaged Matt Wright to remodel our master bath. The overall experience was
superior to other, similar work we have contracted in our home. Some specifics are the
following: Matt was always on time for appointments, professional and courteous
throughout the process, from first meeting to completion.
He is knowledgeable, insightful and honest with his assessments of how he can
help. Unlike other companies, he provided a line by line estimate of our project (which is
what we wanted) and is very forthright with all costs. We have found most other
contractors are very reluctant to do this, and some even refuse to do it. With Matt, it is
the 'way he does business'.
Once engaged for a project, Matt works as the general contractor, but all work is
performed by crews he has worked with for years. All of these individuals, from product
selection to installation and clean up, were professional, personable, and interested in
helping us get the master bath we wanted. Workers were always on-time (and the work
was scheduled over a few weeks around our work schedule), respectful of our home,
and professional. Matt came by almost daily to check on progress and ask for our
opinions. We also spoke on the phone frequently -- he works hard to ensure there are
no 'surprises' in the process. We are very pleased with the work that has been
completed. It came in on schedule, with few hassles, and well under estimates we had
from others for the same work.
We're especially impressed with the tile work -- it is very well done, with good
attention to detail. I would highly recommend Matt for similar projects.
“...many of the neighbors have stopped by to tell us how nice our house looks.” -
Tim & Laura Ibey, Indianapolis, IN
They started on the date they said they would and accomplished a lot in the first
day. The rain was a problem when it came to painting but I was glad they didn't try to
paint on those days.
They were all very friendly polite and did a great job with everything including
cleaning up after themselves. We are very happy with the outcome and many of the
neighbors have stopped by to tell us how nice our house looks.
Not only does our house look new but we have noticed a big difference with how
cool the house has stayed with the new roof, house wrap and siding.
“The workers that were in our house treated it with care.” - Dave & Dana
Green, Carmel, IN
Our experience was excellent. Matt made sure we completely
understood the project. He explained some of the potential pitfalls that could
occur once the wall was opened up.
One of those "pitfalls" happened when a framers nail accidentally
nicked a pipe in the wall creating a small leak that damaged some dry wall.
Matt made sure the repair was made immediately and at no cost to us. You
would never know that there had been a leak. All of the sub contractors that
were in the house were polite, friendly and professional. We felt comfortable
having them in the house. They all cleaned up after themselves. They all
made the extra effort to make sure that our A/C was turned off during their
work so that as little dust as possible was spread throughout the house.
We really appreciated his honesty. He came up with some great ideas to help us
save money and still accomplish our goals (pantry). All the vendors he suggested were
easy to work with and we found what we were looking for with them. We did use 1
vendor outside of his list (granite). We had a previous business relationship with them
and wanted to use their product if possible. Matt accommodated this--no problem.
The workers that were in our house treated it with care. Each day they cleaned
up after themselves and respected our home. Todd (electrician) even let our dog in and
out during the day. He was great!! Matt was also very patient with us when we were
having trouble deciding on a paint color. Each day we had more and more colors on the
wall, we were sure we were driving him nuts. He hung in there and kept putting more
samples up until we found the one we wanted.
Overall the experience was great. We will use The HomeWright again for our
projects.
“Matt's crews are trustworthy.” - Mark & Nancy Jungemann, Carmel, IN
We have used the HomeWright for roofing and drywall in past years. This year, we needed a
complete remodeling of our entire first floor. Matt did a nice job with the schedule - it was clear
and he met the dates. Matt's crews are trustworthy
I had no problem leaving them with a key and access when I was not at home. The
quality was right on. Matt's flooring expert even helped with interior design ideas, and she was
a real gem to work with. Matt's drywall man is a real expert too. Matt was on site every day,
and the crews came to work each morning and worked all day or until their jobs were complete.
We are really pleased with the results and would recommend the HomeWright to anyone.
“....well informed of all activity and schedules...” - Greg & Barb
Browne, Carmel, IN
From the start of this remodel to the finish we were very pleased with
the promptness of The HomeWright and all of the subs working on the
project. A few unknown problems were discovered during renovation and
fixed as well. These are things that we as homeowners had no idea even
existed but were very glad to have fixed as well.
The outside contacts we had to make during the selection of fixtures,
granite, tile, flooring and lighting could not have be more helpful and not at
all pushy for decisions to be made. They were well informed of our project
and our needs but mostly pleasant to work with. Also all of the subs in our
home were people that we never felt anything but comfortable and
trustworthy in our home. We felt we could carry on about our workdays and
know that all was being taken care of. Matt Wright, the contractor, kept in
well informed of all activity and schedules by a printed calendar and or a
phone call or email. This we liked very much knowing what to expect each
day. We would give the company an A+++++++ rating!!
“ Matt Wright is great to work with.”
- Dave & Beth Nichols, Carmel, IN
Fall 2011
Matt Wright is great to work with. He is knowledgeable and communicates well. Matt provides a detailed written proposal of what is going to be done including the materials to be used. He explains all of the details and clearly answered all my questions so that I fully understood all the work being done (I am detail oriented).
Matt even tried to have the materials placed to be the least inconvenient to us as possible. The work crew is always prompt and picks up after themselves. The crew has great pride in the work they do and want to make sure the customer is happy. The painters even came on Saturday once to make sure all the trim was painted before the gutters and down spouts were installed and again to touch up a couple spots (including an edge he had to disassemble part of the door to get to). The work performed was all high quality. Throughout the construction Matt communicated with me so I knew what had been done and the plan going forward. I am very satisfied
Fall 2010
I quoted three contractors for this job. Matt was the only one to spend any time
on the initial phone call to understand what the job really was and to develop a common
understanding between us. Matt was on time for his appointment to discuss the job.
We talked through options for windows (I had already selected the brand I
wanted, but he offered an alternative he felt would be less expensive and equally good.)
and for a funny roof segment above both sets of casement windows. Matt came out to
discuss the quote he developed. He provides a formal written quote detailing the work
to be done and significant detail on the materials to be used (for example, caulk brand
and model and flashing materials). Matt had the window sales representative come out
confirm the measurements to make sure there will be no issues later.
A couple of days after we agreed to do the casement windows and siding I
decided to also have the three large windows done. He promptly came out and brought
his window sales representative because these windows originally were the fixed half of
a sliding door and were installed non-traditionally. The three of us discussed options
(window types, sizes, and how to properly trim out the inside) and they prepared revised
quotes. Because these additional windows are so unusual, Matt asked if he could
remove some interior trim to make sure the correct windows were ordered. The sales
rep and his boss came for this inspection also. They confirmed how the old windows
were constructed and formulated a plan for the interior trim.
The installation was very smooth. The temperature ranged between 5 and 25 the
days they were working on the windows. The crew was careful to close doors where
possible to keep the cold out and worked quite quickly to close the house back up. They
cleaned up every night and never made a big mess. Everyone was very polite and
friendly. The work performed seems to be very high quality.
Through the whole process Matt kept me informed of progress and the plan
going forward. Any time I had a question Matt was happy to answer and to make sure I
was happy with the work performed.
We very much enjoyed working with Matt and his crew.

My wife and I had been toying with remodeling our master bath for years. We'll we
finally did it using "The HomeWright".
From start to finish it was all in plain view. Matt first started with a creative
meeting to see what we were looking for and to get ideas of his own. Once he had
taken our feedback, Matt came back to us with a concise plan and execution model. We
had to leave a portion out (our closet) as it exceeded our budget. No problem, Matt requoted
just the bathroom and it was right in line with were we needed to be. Matt laid
out steps to follow...which vendors to meet with and in what order.
He had a methodical approach that was very succinct. With two kids, dogs and
life in general...this was reassuring. We never had any concern of the HomeWight
people being in our home while we were gone at work and school. His contractors were
all curteous and worked on the timeline Matt promised. We even had a family
emergency that forced his crew to start a week late. He took that in stride.
Lastly, we are next going to complete a kitchen remodel. We already have "our
guy". His low pressure sales technique and willingness to come in at a budget that we
can work with has made this decision easy. Being in the service business I know how
important it is.
