Matt Wright of the HomeWright continued to go above and beyond in every aspect of our very complex project. We had to do several things out of the typical order of construction projects due to some complications. Matt proved that he could be extremely flexible, and that his communication skills are top-notch. Not only did he keep his subs informed of what needed to happen at critical moments in the project, he kept us informed of every detail along the way.

Not only did it go smoothly, but we are extremely impressed and happy with the results! I would hire Matt again in a heartbeat for another project, and would certainly recommend him to anybody looking for a reputable, talented contractor that knows how to communicate! A++++

We recently hired The HomeWright for our kitchen and flooring remodel, and we’re thrilled with the results. He provided excellent planning, clear communication, and high-quality workmanship throughout the entire project. The job was completed on time and exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend him for any remodeling projects!

My wife and I hired Matt and his team to gut, reconfigure and remodel our kitchen. It was a significant project, with removal of a wall between the kitchen and living room and raising the ceiling substantially. Before and after pictures are posted.
This is our 9th significant remodel with Matt and The HomeWright. Matt delivers every time for us with wonderful communication, perfect scheduling and complete control of the project. We could not recommend him higher.

I believe this project represents our 8th or 9th separate engagement with Matt to perform substantial remodeling work at our home, and the experience with this project was just as we’ve come to expect and appreciate from Matt and his team. The work product is superb, the project finished on time and on budget, and Matt’s communication throughout was great.
I think the fact that we’ve gone back to Matt repeatedly for remodeling projects probably speaks for itself, but, nevertheless, my wife and would not hesitate to recommend Matt to anyone with a remodeling project.

To say that my husband has high standards is an understatement. He is an architect and type A personality. We both had a very distinct vision for our kitchen remodel and spent 2 years dreaming it up. We also got 6 months into the planning process with another General Contractor only to fire them and start over. Clearly, we were not going to be the easiest clients to satisfy. Matt Wright was up for the challenge though and knocked it out of the park!

He was a breath of fresh air after what had been a long and frustrating process with others in the industry. Matt is highly organized, very detail oriented and sharp. He and his team were fabulous to work with. I absolutely LOVE how our kitchen remodel turned out! We highly recommend The Home Wright and will be using Matt for all future projects.

Matt Wright (The HomeWright, LLC) is an excellent contractor. He worked closely with us from initial brainstorming, through design plans to the completed remodel. He walked us through each step of the ordering process (appliances, cabinetry, fixtures, hardware, tile, flooring and paint) and managed all the trades efficiently, with grace and good humor. He provided an eight week calendar that organized the date for each step, from tear-out to install, and kept to it.

We always knew what to expect and when. Every workman/woman who entered this house spoke highly of Matt, and their respect showed in their craftsmanship. Matt’s communication with us was excellent. He stopped by frequently, sent text or emails, and was always helpful. We are thrilled with our new kitchen. Matt is an exceptional professional.

Follow through very good-originally contacted in early 2020, Matt said he had a wait list to put me on, and would call at end of year. He did and our project was in motion.
Communication excellent-Matt provided a construction schedule and would communicate times and any changes regularly. He was always available to answer our questions within the same day, often within the hour of our reaching out.
Hands on general contractor-Matt was at our home nearly every day that sub-contractors were working on our project. We felt that he was truly managing the project and we did not have to be overly involved.

Resolution of issues was excellent-with a renovation there are always surprise problems, and ours was no different. The difference was how Matt handled them. He immediately took ownership of any issue, and implemented solutions. An example was an error made by a plumbing sub-contractor. Once the error was discovered, he evaluated all options to resolve and ultimately recommended a more expensive option because it would provide us with the best product. This was resolved at his cost. For us, working with a contractor who owns an error, and takes care of the problem with the right solution is one of the primary reasons we would recommend Matt to others. So many contractors sell customers a vision, but when something inevitably goes wrong, they do not follow through on delivering a quality product at the agreed upon price.

My husband and I cannot say enough positive things about Matt and The HomeWright as a whole. When I came to Matt with a vision, he was so professional, accountable, and insightful. We were a little hesitant to start a home project after a negative experience with a different company. Matt was open, honest and thorough.

There was never a question as to where we were in our process. He has all the best people!! From electric to plumbing to interior design help, you are in the best hands. We kept joking with Matt that he can never get rid of us because we are now creating a list of other home projects. We are so thankful to him and his team.

We just wrapped up a complete primary bedroom and bathroom remodel with Matt including a total bathroom layout change. He’s a great communicator, very organized and on-time with scheduling each piece of the work to be completed. His trader partners were always respectful, friendly and did quality work. We’re already working on remodel phase 2 for next year! We highly recommend using The Home Wright for your remodel needs.

Matt has an amazing team of professional tradesmen! We received a calendar before the project started and he stayed on it. He also had a decorator to work with who was knowledgeable and fun to work with.

I am not one to post reviews on line, but there does come an occasion now and then where a contractor’s work is so exceptionally good that the posting of a review is warranted. That is the case here.

A couple of years ago my wife and I decided to remodel two of our bathrooms and the kitchenette area in our finished basement. As I typically do, I started a rather lengthy process to identify a reputably excellent contractor (not an easy task these days!). I eventually identified one, Matt Wright of The HomeWright, LLC in Carmel, Indiana, as that contractor. In contacting Matt, I learned he was so in demand that he could not even discuss our project until January 2023, 9 months later. I recognized his heavily-booked schedule was actually a good sign about the quality of his work, and because we were in the middle of the pandemic, we were not in a hurry, so we asked him to call us when his schedule allowed. True to his word, Matt called us in January, and we just completed the three projects a week ago.
We are very, very pleased with the work Matt completed for us. The house is a very nice home and, as previously noted, we were looking to upgrade two of its restrooms and the lower level kitchenette area. The results are simply excellent.
Briefly, Matt is a professional and has a great attention to detail. He also holds himself and his subcontractors to a high standard. He has developed, over many years of doing this work, a well thought through, professional process for completing a project. He brings excellent consultants and subcontractors to your project, many, if not most, of whom he has worked with for many years. You are never surprised about anything in the project. Rather, Matt works hard to make sure you are well-informed and satisfied at each step. His contractors arrive on-time and work hard. It is clear from talking with his subcontractors that they hold Matt in high esteem and appreciate their long relationship with him. During the process and following, the two or three minor concerns I identified were each corrected and resolved to my full satisfaction, each within 24 hours of notification. Suffice it to say, the entire process, from beginning to end, and from demo to final product, was just great. As evidence of that, we are now in the process of starting another remodeling project with Matt, the Master Bath.
Matt is not the cheapest remodeler on the block, but I learned long ago, you get what you pay for. And with Matt, you get a smooth process, good people, expertise, and a wonderful result. Indeed, his prices are very reasonable considering the quality of work he produces, the excellence of his consultants and subcontractors, his responsiveness to your concerns, his attention to detail, and his professionalism. We look forward to our future opportunities to work with him.
We give him 5 stars and plus!

From the first remodel:
We had an excellent bathroom remodel experience with Matt and his team. It was a six week project, and he and his team took extra precaution to keep our house clean throughout. They stayed on schedule and kept us updated about their progress. He even FaceTimed me at work so I could select where our bath faucet would be placed.
We also particularly loved working with his designer, Amanda, who has impeccable taste and a good sense of humor. We are extraordinarily happy with the finished project and would not hesitate to use Matt and his team again.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome for our bathroom remodel. Matt operates in a highly professional manner. He and his team walked us through the concept alternatives, design, material selections, very methodically. A schedule was provided before starting and Matt was on-site to supervise and review the work completed every day.

We hired The HomeWright to remodel our Laundry Room. Matt and his crew were great to work with – very professional, courteous, punctual, and easy to have around. Matt gave us a detailed project calendar and stuck to it. We loved knowing what to expect each day throughout the project! We would highly recommend The HomeWright!

If you are considering a home remodel project, I highly recommend Matt Wright with The HomeWright, LLC. Matt and his team completely remodeled our home over the past 9 months, beginning with bedrooms and bathrooms last summer (May – August), then finishing the project this winter (January – March) with our Kitchen, Dining Room, Great Room and Den. With each stage of our project, Matt provided a detailed estimate, a design plan with technical drawings, a full project schedule, and consistent follow up.

His team was friendly, highly skilled, and they showed up on time every single day. They even cleaned up after themselves each day! I was most impressed by Matt’s attention to detail and his commitment to delivering quality work. This attribute was revealed multiple times over the course of our project, but best demonstrated prior to removing a load-bearing wall between our kitchen and great room. Matt called in an engineer to ensure the right structural decisions were made. So, if you are looking for quality work from highly skilled craftsmen, you must call The HomeWright, LLC. You will not regret it!
From the first remodel:
We just completed a total update/remodel of two bedrooms and two bathrooms with The Home Wright. We couldn’t be more pleased with Matt and the work that was done! From our first meeting he took our dreams and made them into a realistic plan and then executed the plan in a professional and timely manner!
We received a schedule so we knew what to expect on a daily basis. Changes to the schedule were always communicated and Matt never left our home without making sure all our questions were answered. The team of tradespeople used were professional, on time and totally trustworthy! Each one doing awesome work and cleaning up at the end of the day! We would highly recommend The Home Wright!

We’re in love with our new master bath! We went from our outdated, heavy on the brass-and-mirror-trimmed bath to one that’s very elegant and spa-like. We’re so pleased with the high quality of work and fine craftsmanship provided by Matt and his team.

And, it really was a pleasure working with Matt. He’s very customer-centric and an excellent communicator. Throughout the project, we knew what to expect and when. We spoke frequently either in person or by text , email or phone. From the beginning, Matt worked hard to get a sense of what we liked. And, he was always open to our ideas even when I labored over decisions on the vanity mirror and specific styles of glass for the cabinet doors. Matt knew these details were really important to me and he wanted me to be happy with the end product. In fact, he and Amanda, his design expert, met me at the house one afternoon so the three of us could collaborate and align on the style and dimensions of the mirror. Amanda was great, too. I can’t imagine how overwhelming it would have been to pick everything out on my own. My first picks for tile and flooring came in much higher than budgeted so she helped me achieve a similar look within budget that’s just as beautiful. We were so happy with Matt that we’re having him back after the first of the year to remodel the full guest bath and staircase.

We just finished a complete kitchen and family room remodel with Matt Wright , The HomeWright and could not be more pleased with the project. The whole process from start to finish was great. Matt had been referred by friends and neighbors that had some work done for them and were highly satisfied. Matt came to meet with us, we shared what we wanted to do and sent him pictures.

He drew out plans that incorporated everything we had asked for. He has companies and contacts for each step of the process and picking out what we wanted could have been overwhelming, but it was hassle free with lots of choices. He has a designer on his team, Amanda that will meet you at appointments and assist with your selections, we were always on the same page.We have had other home improvements and they were disasters. Matt was there for every delivery and made sure all was timely. From the time we signed the contract with HomeWright, we had a calendar of who would be onsite and what work was to be completed. The work was always completed when he said he would be, and he finished right on time. The guys that do the work are great as well, always on time, clean up the mess before leaving and such nice guys! After every selection, we were sent an updated budget sheet that showed the costs, so we always knew where we were with finances. We will not do another project without Matt! Thank you for our beautiful kitchen and family room!

After being completely satisfied with two bathroom remodels, we contacted Matt to finish off our bonus room above our garage. This required some engineering expertise, due to the rooflines, so Matt brought in the experts to design the ceiling pitches and angles to not only be visually appealing, but most importantly to maintain the structural integrity. I was impressed with the thoroughness in design and the quality of the workmanship to make this room a great hangout for our family.

His team was able to tie in the HVAC to existing supply and return run into the room when we built the house 20 years ago. New circuits were needed and his electrician did a great job in running new lines and getting the numerous cable connectors sorted. Amanda was, again, amazing in providing decorating guidance with wall color and carpeting. Overall, we have added some valuable square footage that is really nice now and will be valuable to any prospective buyer down the road. I’d highly recommend Matt Wright for any remodeling project. You can be sure that it will be done with high quality, on time and within budget.

This is the second project we have done with Matt and we will use him again! Matt is very responsive and worked with us from start to finish. He worked with us to make sure the end product was exactly what we were looking for. His people are great – from the tiler to the painter to the decorator. He knows our style well enough that when we texted him various ideas from different parts of the world, he would find what worked – including barn doors from Wyoming.

Matt came up with a very workable and practical design plan based on our input. In addition he made several great recommendations for neat upgrades such as beverage center. Matt uses a very selective list of vendors who are absolutely great to work with for selection of materials. All of this is done and completed before the work begins. Matt provides a detailed budget and a Gantt chart based schedule. This was a big project that took 7 weeks from initial demo to completion.

The project was completed on-time and on-budget. This was also the case with bath room projects completed last year. Matt’s work is of highest quality and the finished job exceeded our expectations. We would not work with anyone else after such a positive experience last year and this year.

I can’t recommend Matt and his team enough! They are AMAZING! Every person on Matt’s team is top notch. What’s cool about the HomeWright is that they do so much prep work that your actual job is done quickly and efficiently which lessens the time you are “under construction”. By demo time, there are really no surprises and you are given a schedule so you can see exactly what is going to happen at your home on any given day. Every sub that came into our home was clean and courteous.

Everything went wonderfully. Our new bath looks like a spa. We love it. The tile on the shower and the floors is wonderful. The tile specialist, Jeff, is a master craftsman. We had Matt remodel our kitchen last year, and both projects were completed within the scheduled timeframe, on time to the day! Matt returns calls promptly and is very upfront about how far out he is scheduling jobs. He does detailed drawings, estimates and schedules and sticks to them. Matt comes daily to check on the work and be certain it is done right. Always is!

I thought it might be helpful to explain why we selected The Homewright (Matt Wright) over other remodeling companies. We talked with two other well-known and well-respected companies before making our decision, but for us, our decision was easy. The person who initially came to our house, and the one who completed the project was Matt. Not a dedicated sales person, not a dedicated project manager, the owner of the company.

He had excellent ideas, and pointed out pros and cons to ideas we proposed for us to consider that affected price or functionality. The reviews on Matt’s work and that of his sub-contractors was consistently excellent, and the portfolio of his work on his website show the versatility and quality of his work. Matt is great to work with, and so are his Subs, and a special mention to the great lady who helped us select our tile, Amanda. The subs work was impeccable and it was easy to see they enjoyed working for Matt. Matt gave us a calendar of when the project was going to start, what was going to done when, and when the project was going to end.
It all happened as he said it would. How many contractors can you say that about? One situation some readers might find unique. Matt and we agreed to schedule the bulk of the work while we were on vacation. Everyone is so easy to work with, but a remodel is stressful to your everyday living routine. We actually jumped at the idea of Matt and his crew working while we were gone. Even though we had never worked with Matt before, we completely trusted Matt and his people and it worked out great. In this day and age of messaging, Facetime, email, and phone calls, we never felt like we missed out on a thing. We weren’t concerned the work wasn’t going to be done right since we weren’t there. That’s what we paid Matt to do. He sent us pictures daily, and of course was available to discuss anything we wanted to cover. The end result was even better than what we expected, and we expected a lot. If we have any other remodel projects we won’t be shopping the project. We will call Matt to do the work.

I love my new kitchen! Matt Wright and his team did a great job! Matt came every day to check on the work. He took the time to explain us every step, and was patient with my non-fluent English. Everything was planned and written down, no bad surprise! Matt surely has very strongly held views on how things should be done, and I sometimes had divergences, but we always found a common ground, and everything went smoothly and nicely. We won’t hesitate to recommend him to our friends and will definitely work with him again!

From start to finish The HomeWright, LLC (Matt Wright) gave us a superior customer experience. Our high expectations were exceeded every step of the way. Matt Wright’s personal commitment to the agreed upon project plan and timeline was extraordinary. This was one of many clear demonstrations by him of his honesty, trustworthiness and integrity as a contractor.

The design process and the execution of demo and construction was of superior quality — a high value experience. We were most impressed by all the skilled trades professionals on this project, especially the electrician, plumbers, carpenters/cabinet installers, painters and tile installers. They all performed those extra little steps to ensure all work was perfect. We were also very apprectiative of the daily clean ups and low level of disturbance to our home by The HomeWright’s crews. There was minimal distruption to our home during all phases of this 6 week project.
On a personal note, we highly value the personable, friendly and respectful manner that all individuals showed us when they were in our home. They even showed this to our mini Aussie!! 😉
We highly recommend The HomeWright, LLC to others.

I had a lot of things I wanted in my new laundry room and it was a challenge for Matt to work it all into the space – but he did it! Once we agreed upon the design he brought his entire team in to review what needed to be done. He put together a schedule and the job started. We met with his designer to choose tile, countertop, backsplash and paint colors. She was a huge help! Matt came to the job site at least once every day to make sure things were on track and answer any questions that we had.
They demo’d the area, framed, installed drywall, put in electrical, plumbing and HVAC, installed a new window, installed the herringbone patterned floor and stainless steel backsplash and painted. I couldn’t be happier with the finished product! It is very functional and turned out beautifully! Matt’s team finished on schedule and was very pleasant to work with. If you are looking for a trustworthy company that does exactly what they say they are going to do, I would highly recommend The Home Wright!

Our 2001 custom built home had a large 20×25 room that never functioned properly. The room’s original plan as a billiard room/bar was never used. Over time the room accumulated exercise equipment and office furniture as well. We tried various things in this room to make it aesthetically pleasing, but never quite hit the mark. In late 2013 we decided we wanted this room to be an office/craft room, we had a few ideas, but weren’t sure how to accomplish our goals.

We started with a shop drawing and a few bids from remodelers, but never felt comfortable with the pricing. Our last call was to Matt Wright of The HomeWright and the situation turned around immediately.
A very important part of the project was that we wanted to match our existing hardwood floors that cover the majority of our first floor into the new room. At the initial meeting Matt was full of new ideas and recommendations that would achieve our goals without breaking the bank. We started with a large walk in closet with 2 large double doors to fill the non-functional space. Matching the existing bar cabinets that were staying in the room would be very expensive, so instead we used good quality cabinets to accentuate the room. We added a center island for crafts and replaced the counter top on the existing bar to tie it all together. We chose quartz counter tops with the help of Matt and his flooring representative, Amanda. I had no worries when the project began. The subs were very nice and willing to help with a few maintenance items that were not on our original scope of work.
We were very comfortable leaving the house during the day and letting the subs come and go to complete their work. We had a line item bid with a daily written schedule of the job with a completion date which was followed exactly as proposed. We had a slight hiccup at the end of the project. A double sliding solid door that we had chosen was partially put up in the entry into the room and we decided it looked too closed off from the rest of the house. We thought we could live with the door, but decided to talk to Matt about a door change. I felt awful but sent him an email on a Saturday morning. His response was, “No problem, I will bring out some door samples on Monday.” He also stated that we would get credit for the unused door. The office/craft room is complete and we love the space and will use it for so many project and events for the rest of our lives. We are so excited that this once jumbled mess of a room has purpose and looks amazing. We had a great experience and would use The HomeWright again for any other projects we might have.

Matt and his team worked on two projects concurrently. One project was to remodel our basement, the other to remodel/reface our fireplace in our living room. In our basement, we installed new carpet, cabinetry, granite counter tops, paint, replaced all fluorescent lighting with can lights, wood trim, and installed a contemporary steel cable railing system down our stairs. In our living room we totally remodeled our fireplace by taking out very traditional cabinetry and shelves and replaced with contemporary shelves and cabinet, upgraded hearth to granite and extensive tile work over entire wall and newly constructed mantle.

Matt provided a schedule at the beginning of the project which detailed the timing of each and every step of the project, beginning on time and finishing on time. Communicated well throughout the project and made frequent visits to our home to check progress and to communicate details and expectations to the guys performing the work. All of his employees/sub-contractors were very courteous and performed quality work with meticulous attention to detail. Matt also has an eye for the details and has high expectations to be sure all work is performed exactly as we desired. Very happy with the work, the process, the communication, etc. The majority of the work took place while we were not home throughout the day and including the week when we were on vacation. We were comfortable with Matt and all of his employees being in the house. In comparison to a previous kitchen remodel with a different contractor, Matt’s process is night and day of a difference for the better, and we would recommend using his services.

This was our first major remodeling experience and we did a lot of up-front research. After getting a number of estimates and initial consultations, Matt Wright’s approach to design and project management made our decision to work with him easy. Once you sign the pre-construction agreement, Matt really goes to work for you.

He regularly communicated when we were in the design process. His design for our baths was consistent with the standards in our neighborhood. We executed the pre-construction agreement and finalized the contract at the end of May with a start date of July 13.
The shared hall bath was updated by removing the existing one-piece tub/shower unit and replacing with a tub and ceramic tile surround. New tile floor was installed and the existing cabinet repainted and a quartz top installed with under mount sinks and new plumbing fixtures and lighting. The master bath was gutted removing cabinetry, a one piece shower and garden tub. The room was redesigned for a larger ceramic tile shower, a new cabinet configuration with quartz top and under mounted sinks, new Anderson window, a soaking tub and all new floor tile and fixtures.
Matt has preferred vendors that were very good to work with in selecting cabinetry, tile, plumbing and lighting fixtures. The project started on-time with a completion date of August 16. We did both baths at the same time and the hall bath finished about 10 days before the master. Amanda, the tile and flooring consultant, came to the house to work with us on paint selections once the tile was installed. The demo and plumbing/electrical rough-in went with few issues and when minor issues were identified, Matt would take the time to show us what was going on and how to best address the situation.
We received regular communication from Matt on our project and he was on the site every day for much of the work (he usually has 2 to four such projects in flight). We were impressed with the electrical work provided and the electrical contractor took the time to address a circuitry issue we had that was unrelated to the project. The tile work took the most project time and was fantastic. The tiler took great pride in his work and installed a glass insert waterfall feature in the master bath shower that really made the room pop. The project was completed on August 16th. The project was on-time and essentially on-budget (+3%) and we have been very happy with the final product. It is a high quality job and we felt involved at every step. The workers were great people and we were comfortable with allowing them in our home when we were not at the house. Even our dog was completely at ease with the crew. They thoroughly cleaned up every day and even swept the plastic sheeting covering the steps and carpet. I would recommend The HomeWright to anyone looking to remodel baths or kitchens.

We met several times during the planning stages and Matt was very helpful and gave us some wonderful ideas. Matt provided us with a schedule which he followed to a “T”. We either saw Matt or talked to him on a daily basis. From the very beginning to the very end, it went very smoothly. His sub-contractors were friendly and hard working. Our laundry room turned out beautiful and we have had many compliments on it. We would highly recommend Matt and will definitely use him in the future.

We were extremely happy with this project. Matt was honest enough at my first contact to call and let me know he didn’t feel he could take on another project at that time, but I should contact him in a few months if we hadn’t moved forward with another contractor and he would be happy to give us a quote. Of the three contractors we met with, Matt made us feel confident that he was able to accomplish what we wanted. He offered ideas and concerns to what we were suggesting and came up with alternate layouts to give us the end result that we wanted.

From the decision to go forward with the precontract phase of our project, Matt was in contact with us almost weekly. He provided us with a detailed calendar so we would know what to expect. Everyone Matt had us meet with to make selections was extremely helpful and knowledgable and easy to work with.
Our project began on time and was able to stay pretty much on schedule. The main tile worker had a medical issue during our project and couldn’t work as long of days as he normally would so the tiling took more time than originally scheduled; however Matt was able to schedule everyone else around this issue and ended up within one day of our original finish date. During the actual project Matt was in contact with us daily, often in person, or if we missed each other, through emails, texts, phone calls. He never made us feel like we were bothering him with our questions.
All of the workers who came to our house were pleasant and courteous; demo crew, construction, electrical, plumbers, tilers, painters, carpet installers and closet installers. We just finished our project 2 days ago and are blown away by how beautiful it is. Hoping to work with Matt again when we remodel our kitchen in the future.

We made the decision to remodel our half bath, kitchen, parts of our family room and our hardwood floors. As with our last remodel, we asked several companies to bid on the work. One of the calls made was to Matt Wright at The HomeWright. Matt led off the process by making sure that we were collectively in the same ballpark relative to dollars needed for the project and Matt did a great job highlighting the project scope. Items that were very important to us:

1-Matt had to stay involved in the project.
2-Scope had to be clear and easy to understand.
3-Budget set needed to include our needs with limited to no overages.
4-Timeline agreed upon had to be met.
5-We needed help from someone to ensure selections were narrowed when presented to us since we did not have time to visit all the vendors or review all product choices
Matt followed up with a proposal and plans. We made some edits and agreed to hire Matt for the project. We met with all of the vendors with efficiency and in accordance with the dates set. Scope was clearly understood and the vendors were prepared. Once selections were complete, a construction calendar was presented. Construction started on time and was completed on time. As parts of our project involved limiting access to the home (floors), Matt was able to work the calendar so that work could be done while we were out of town. Great care was taken to protect the home and the furnishings. His subs went in and out of our home with no issues. We have three dogs that were in the home during construction and we had no issues with the dogs or his subs.
In summary, we would recommend Matt Wright without any reservation.

We just finished a complete remodel of our primary suite (bed and bathroom) and all I can say is Wow! The Home Wright team managed the project with the utmost professionalism. From the very start when Matt Wright came to quote our project we knew we wanted to work with him. He was very upfront about the project costs and timeline. His experience and skill in all things renovation related was so helpful in pulling the plans together.

He provided a detailed project plan and hit every milestone. Amanda is a gifted designer who really helped us bring our vision to fruition. The electrician, the plumbers, the tilers, etc. were all talented, professional, and a pleasure to work with. I can honestly say this was the best managed home renovation I have ever experienced, and I have done a lot of renovations! So, if you are considering a major renovation and are looking for an honest, dedicated and professional contractor, I highly recommend The Home Wright! We could not be happier with the experience and the results.

Matt Wright of The Homewright, LLC came highly recommended to us after we had met with a few other contractors. We had heard some bad renovation experiences from friends, so we wanted to get the right contractor for our kitchen remodel. Matt laid out everything up front and helped guide us in what would work and what would not, both functionally and aesthetically.

As an architect I completed a design at the beginning of 2021 to transform for our sixty-year kitchen. The project focused on demolishing the kitchen and removing a wall to double the size of the kitchen. Also included was replacing flooring throughout most of the first floor with hardwood, redoing a powder room, replacing front doors, and replacing or upgrading several interior doors.

Once the design was complete, we began our quest in February for a contractor who would carry out the design with skill and thoroughness. We set out to interview five or six contractors, but after talking with Matt Wright of Homewright – the second we spoke with – we were convinced his approach was what we wanted. Although his schedule was such that he would not start the project until September, we agreed that this would allow for the long lead times, especially for appliances, that had become the norm during the Covid pandemic.
On-site work started on September 14, 2021, as scheduled. The work was scheduled to be complete by Thanksgiving and was indeed substantially done by that time. The exceptions were the new front door and the tile backsplash in the powder room due to longer than anticipated delivery times. These items were finished in early December.
The work Matt and his subcontractors performed was done exceptionally well. As we spoke with the tradesmen on the job, each of them commented on how well they liked to work with Matt as he kept things on track much better than many they worked with. The outcome of this project exceeded our expectations and our satisfaction with Homewright could not be more. We plan to use them on future projects we are planning.

Can’t say enough how impressed I was with HomeWright Remodeling workmanship, project management and responsiveness on our home remodeling project. Every milestone was hit on time! 100% recommend.

My husband and I hired The Home Wright to remodel our outdated family room. We are thrilled with the results! Matt worked with us to accomplish the exact family room we had envisioned. Matt and his whole team were extremely easy to work with. Whenever we had a question or concern Matt was easy to reach. I never had to worry about our kids or dog getting into trouble while the family room was under construction. When they had completed their work for the day they always left the house clean and anything dangerous tucked away.

The project was completed right on time. Even with an unpredictable snafu like our home losing power for 24 hours due to electrical company work in our neighborhood. The electrician brought extra batteries for his tools and completed the work scheduled for that day anyway! Our beautiful new family room was also right on budget. My husband and I will had an extremely positive experience. We will call The Home Wright for any home remodel we do in the future.

We contacted Matt with The HomeWright after having a less than pleasant experience with the bidding process with another contractor, and having difficulties with a couple other projects at the house over the years. I was moved by the testimonials on his website and was interested to see if they would be true to form. I’m happy to say that we weren’t disappointed!

Matt was very up front in that he wouldn’t even be able to walk down our project for several weeks. While this was a bit discouraging, as we were anxious to move forward with the project, I respected the fact that Matt refused to spread himself too thin and that we would receive the same level of commitment if we chose to use his company for our project.
The process was very straightforward. Matt came by our house and walked us through the steps he’s implemented to ensure a successful project…from general design concept and selection of materials to payment milestones and project completion. This was comforting given our experience with previous contractors who either grossly underbid our work and continued raising the overall spend of our project or asked for a significant amount of money up front before having a quote in-hand.
We had a slight delay in the start of our project given that our first meeting with Matt was in December, just before the holidays, but come January we were up and running. Matt worked directly with us on the overall concept and renderings of the remodel and brought in his designer, Amanda, to help finalize the overall concept and lead the charge on material selections. Our house was built in the late 80’s and we have golden oak stained baseboards, casings, crown and door jambs running throughout the house. We were really concerned with remodeling the living room and having our color selections clash with the look and overall flow of the rest of the house. Amanda was great to work with and she helped us to make some hard decisions on selecting materials which would keep with the flow of the house while still providing a very fresh and updated look to our new living room.
The project took about 3-months from start to finish. That includes design, material selection, demo, and final construction. Actual “construction” took about 4-weeks. The project included complete demo of our existing built-in’s, wall covering and mantel surrounding our brick fireplace, removal of wood ceiling beams and ceiling fan, baseboards, crown and door casings. New construction involved new built-in cabinets and mantel, canned lighting, ceiling fan, re-stoning our fireplace and new hearthstone, A/V installation for placing our TV over the new fireplace, wood floors, baseboards, crown and door casings, refurbishing the nosepiece and associated steps into the living room and final paint.
Every contractor Matt brought in to work on our project was friendly, worked efficiently and showed great craftsmanship. There were no instances of down time where I felt that something could have been accomplished. When the project was complete, I noted a handful of minor details which I felt needed to be addressed and Matt was certain to follow up on each concern and ensure that we were fully pleased with the end result, and we definitely were!
Matt was hands-on throughout the entire process and paid our project a level of attention which we had never experienced with previous contractors. We’re thrilled with the transformation of our living room and will definitely use Matt and The HomeWright for our next project!

Absolutely incredible attention to detail, responsiveness and scheduling! Matt is an excellent communicator and nailed his commitments to dates. Our kitchen project started and finished on schedule and the work was completed to perfection. The results are better than we had imagined. Matt’s designer, Amanda, made some recommendations that were outside of what I originally had in mind, and they have turned out to be my favorite elements in the finished project.

Matt Wright and The HomeWright, LLC recently completed a remodeling project for my wife and I and we are extremely pleased with the experience and the finished product. We gutted and remodeled our entire kitchen, installed hardwood floors (replacing carpet), and repainted in our kitchen, dining room, hallway, and half-bathroom. It was a big project for us and Matt handled it extremely well! Working with Matt was a pleasure.

From the moment that we met Matt, he was professional, punctual, and communicative. One of the things that we really liked about him right off the bat was that he came to the table with ideas and helped us with several design issues.
Throughout the process, Matt was very well organized and kept us informed every step of the way. If anything did come up where additional work was necessary, Matt always called to have us approve the work before he started on it. He was always careful to explain the situation and give us his best recommendation. We trusted Matt entirely and were always grateful for his advice. Something that meant a lot to us was that Matt said that he treats each project as if it is a project in his own home. He exemplified that throughout the project. Also, at the beginning of our project, we were struggling to find a particular product that we really liked from Matt’s list of preferred vendors. As a result, Matt took the time to find and start a partnership with a new vendor where we could purchase exactly what we wanted. We know that Matt has strong relationships with his preferred vendors, so it meant a lot to us that he went out of his way, not using one of his preferred vendors, so that we could be completely satisfied with our kitchen.
As the work progressed, we found Matt’s subcontractors/partners to be good, honest people who respected our home. They executed the remodel plans that we had developed with Matt, and they all did an excellent job of cleaning up their messes throughout the process.
Overall, the quality of work that we received from Matt and his crew was outstanding, and we are completely satisfied with the outcome. In fact, we have already recommended Matt and The HomeWright, LLC to several people that we know.

We brought in a couple of project consultants and we interviewed them. It was a difficult process for us to make a decision because the project could go many different ways. We chose Matt because we liked our initial meeting with him, he took the time to explain his experience, his work ethics, process, and high level game plan based up on our needs. We felt like we could trust Matt from the beginning.

In addition, we read some other reference material other customers wrote about Matt that indicated he provided quality work and was on time. We felt these were our two most important qualities in a contractor because we have two little kids and we needed to stick to a tight schedule since our lives were going to be turned upside down without a kitchen for 6 weeks.
After we chose Matt, we moved into a detailed scope phase where we drilled down into more specifics. Got into a design phase & then was able to start talking dollars. We liked how his estimate was middle of the road & he would provide regular updates throughout the project on where we stood in regards to the budget based upon the decisions we made on cabinets, floors, lighting, etc…. because you can either save money by the choices you make or spend a lot more. We always knew where we stood at any given time.
Matt has a good team of vendors that have great product knowledge and you can tell they worked well together with Matt. We had an issue with the cabinet guy because his glass vendor went out of business on him without telling him. The cabinet vendor took action and was able to get in the glass from a new vendor in a reasonable amount of time.
My wife & I both work and we had Matt & his team in the house just about every day for 6 weeks and never had any issues or felt uncomfortable. I made a couple of surprise visits home during the day & everyone was always working & doing what they were supposed to be doing.
Just as promised, Matt was able to stay on schedule as planned. We only had 1 or 2 super minor follow up items past the due date but everything was up & running on the day promised; we just had to wait on 1 piece of glass for a cabinet & also had to wait on some specialized hardware for our dry bar that we ordered.
Finally, communication was great from the beginning to the end. Matt and I were communicating just about every day via email and/or phone. He quickly returned any messages I left and he made himself available on weekends if needed.
In summary, I highly recommend The HomeWright LLC.

We had been tossing around the idea of remodeling our kitchen for about a year, but when we had water damage to our hardwood floor from ice damming, we decided that there would never be a better time for the remodel. We didn’t hesitate on whom we would have complete the job. Matt Wright helped us with our basement remodel and because it went so smoothly, he was our natural choice for this job as well.
At our initial consultation, we told Matt that our overall goal was to make our kitchen seem larger. He gave us great ideas and suggestions. After finalizing our plans, we received Matt’s detailed proposal for the project. Because we had received a quote from our insurance adjustor for the repair work, we were able to confirm that Matt’s pricing was fair.
Matt gave us a detailed schedule of what was to occur each day and it was amazing how closely he stuck to that schedule. And if there was a tweak here or there in the schedule, Matt always let us know ahead of time. Communication with his clients seems to be very important to Matt. We once had an experience with a builder where after we signed the contract, we never heard from him again. After signing we only met with his supervisors and workers. This was definitely not the case with The HomeWright.
Matt was at our house checking on things at least once each day, and often, several times a day. And if we weren’t at home when Matt was there, he would follow up with a phone call, text message, or email that same day. During the kitchen remodel, Matt discovered some insulation problems with our external walls. He recommended the proper solution to the problem and had the unforeseen repairs made efficiently and economically. We were even able to stay on schedule. We are impressed with Matt’s problem-solving skills and do not feel like we were taken advantage of.
We became very comfortable with Matt and his contractors working in our home while we weren’t there. Everyone was professional, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day, which was important to us since were were living in the home during the remodel. When it was time for our summer vacation, we gave Matt our security alarm code and he was kind enough to turn our alarm on and off each day during our absence. We enjoyed our vacation much more knowing that things were secure at home and that we could trust Matt to take care of things for us. In our opinion, Matt is a very organized, reliable, and trustworthy person who pays close attention to details. We are very pleased with our kitchen remodel and home repairs. We are already thinking about a master bath remodel and we will definitely call The HomeWright LLC again.

From the beginning Matt put us at ease. He gave us an itemized budget, directed us to knowledgeable people to make our product selections, and issued us a calendar of projected dates for work to be completed. As the remodel began the weather turned very cold and nasty. The crew took great care to ensure our home was protected by covering carpet and railings. Matt was on site daily to check on the work being completed, to answer any questions we had, and to inform us what would be happening the next day. If plans changed, we received phone calls and text messages to keep us informed. Communication was terrific!
The project took approximately five weeks to complete from beginning to end. Our schedules did not allow us to be at home each day while work was being completed. At one point in the remodel, we had to leave town. We never once were concerned about the security of our house. Matt relayed expectations and the workers followed them.
We now have a beautiful master bathroom. The expertise of all those who helped us choose the products used, the quality of work completed by Matt’s crew, and attention to detail he gave to our project made our first remodel a very positive experience. We are thrilled with the outcome.

I have more than 25 years experience in construction ranging from high-end residential to high rise to schools to Federal facilities. In many respects I can be the worst sort of buyer of home building because I know what I am talking about and I am very opinionated. Matt Wright came through with flying colors.

He stood up for what he thought was the correct approach when he thought that I was wrong and changed my mind on how to proceed. His knowledge of construction is exceptional and he knows how to get the best bang for the buck. When I wanted to add an inch of board insulation behind the new siding, Matt showed me how it would have a greater payback (and cost less) by adding blown-in insulation in the attic. Other contractors that I interviewed and who provided proposals were nowhere near as knowledgeable and never challenged me when I wasn’t using the best approach. I whole-heartedly recommend using The HomeWright. Though I had a bid that was about $1,000 lower (~2%), the additional cost was well worth it. Correctly reworking and salvaging existing windows alone made the cost worth it.
Our home had T-1-11 siding, which isn’t much more than pretty plywood. It was delaminating, bubbling, and rotting. We had leaks I knew of, and some Matt found, documented, proposed a fair price for, and fixed. All stable T-1-11 remained, and the bad areas were replaced with plywood. Then a housewrap was added and the Hardie planks were installed over the housewrap. All trim was done in cedar. All areas were reflashed. The rakes were extended to match the soffits. The existing shingles were removed from the roof and all soffits and gutterboards were replaced. Areas that didn’t drain well were reworked and a few rotten boards were replaced. Flashing at the chimney was done correctly for the first time in the life of the house. Everything received new paint including priming that occurred on any Hardie plank cuts, etc.
A tremendous value and a job well done. I received proposals from two firms that came recommended from friends. Each came highly recommended, but basically just priced up my ideas. I was ready to go with the lower of the two prices. Due to Chase Bank messing up the home equity loan (and Fifth-Third getting it done in 1 week), the delay resulted in my fortunately running across a lawn sign for The HomeWright while out walking the dog. I spoke with the home owner who (incorrectly) described the work performed. Not a construction guy.
Figuring that I had nothing to lose, I looked up The HomeWright’s web page and discovered that this other house had work similar to what I needed. I invited Matt over the next day and we spent several hours discussing the work required and the ideas that I had. Matt sometimes agreed and sometimes didn’t, but he always had good reasons when he didn’t. He talked me out of the insulation board, which was a bad idea. When the price came in between the other two bids, and barely above the low bid, I knew I had my contractor. Work started late last year, but we knew in advance that the painting would likely have to await the spring. Matt always called with progress updates and to see if we had concerns. When a hidden condition, like areas of rot, was discovered, the proposed solution was good and the price was right. Gouging on extras is some contractor’s lifeblood — no Matt’s. He was fair in all cases, even telling me on some of my requests that he had included it all along because it was the right approach. When work was completed this spring we were ecstatic. Our neighbors are quite pleased too as the house was pretty beaten up looking. During the winter we added some indoor work which also went very well. Aside from the updates and fair pricing, perhaps the best thing was that the workers arrived when Matt said they would and they stayed until the job was done. This guy knows what he is doing.

This was a 2 month project. Work was done in a timely manner. We kept adding additional work and Matt didn’t have a problem with it. We had our kitchen gutted, our floors replaced in 2 rooms and all the floors in the house were re-finished. We had all our textured ceilings removed, all the rooms painted, including closets.

Matt had to figure out a way we could open up our kitchen. He removed the wall and put a beam up. All the lighting in the kitchen and living room were replaced/upgraded. In the kitchen we replaced everything, cabinets, counter tops, tiles, all appliances, lighting, floor. We thought Matt and all his contractors were responsive, professional and friendly. We felt comfortable talking with all of them and asking questions. Matt always kept us update on things and had a calendar of who was coming that day. We are very happy with everything and already have another project we would like him to do. 🙂

This is the third major project we’ve completed using Matt Wright and The Homewright LLC. Matt is our “go to” for any remodeling project and we’ve referred him to friends and they’ve also been very pleased with his work.
When we decided to go forward with for our kitchen remodel, we met with Matt and discussed options. We basically gutted the kitchen and started over. Given some space considerations, we used our original footprint but totally modernized the space. We love it!
Since we’ve worked with Matt previously, we’re very comfortable with his vendors and subs. Matt knew our budget and schedule requirements. Matt is a truly a professional and we feel an anomaly in the construction industry because he is realistic about the schedule and his people keep to the schedule – we’ve never had an issue. I would not hesitate to work with Matt again (we’re already thinking about the 4th project) or recommend him to our friends and colleagues.

We are so happy with the job done by Matt and his crews at the HomeWright. We had our 1985 master bath remodeled, as well as taking a wall down to a partial wall between kitchen and living room. Probably the top qualities of the company are communication and punctuality. Our project involved detailed and prompt communication throughout the process, from the initial contact, to ballpark estimate, to contracting and full design, selections, and execution.

He was completely up front about where we were in the “que” (we waited about 4 months for the start), but when they started, each part of the project was completed exactly on the schedule we were given. The ballpark estimate was also pretty darn close to the final number. Crews were onsite doing something every weekday, from beginning to end, regardless of whether we were home. I was not expecting a perfect timeline personally, so that was a pleasant surprise. They also worked with us around our budget and making the most of less expensive material selections. He has vendors that he works with regularly and sends specs and budget to them in advance of your appointments. I did some appointments in like 5 minutes. His designer, Amanda, meets you at the appointments and helps with selections. Everything is beautiful and we are so happy with the final product(s). Our bath is incredible. We also had a slight issue with a broken mirror, but it was fixed expeditiously. He also includes generous guarantees in the contracts for his work. This is not cheapo bidder who disappears on you, leaving crappo work behind.

Matt consults with you to create a design, establish a budget and expectations on timing (literally by providing a calendar of what will take place from start to finish and everything in between…and sticks to it). He stays in constant communication with you through the project to touch base to make sure things going as we planned. He is at the house to be sure contractors and employees are on the same page as to what is expected before work begins each day and then double checks to make sure the work was to our satisfaction (usually catching anything that may need to be touched up before we mentioned it). We felt comfortable having Matt and his crew in the house while we were not home and, in fact, after school ended and summer break began, our teenage girls were home and we were comfortable with them being home while work continued. The project went smoothly and was completed to our satisfaction. Everything looks great and we are very happy with the project.

Our kitchen remodel exceeded all of our expectations! We were actually quite pessimistic (this has been our first remodel experience) about working with ANY contractor as all of my friends and family continuously told me “it will always take longer then estimated, you will spend a ton more money, you will have many contractor no show days, etc. , however all those “warnings” were far from the truth in working with Matt Wright and his great team.

We had an initial meet and greet and decided to be very upfront with Matt on our budget constraints and concerns on timeline. We have 3 boys and 2 big dogs so no kitchen was going to be hard! He spend a lot of time listening to what was important to us vs. what we would like, vs. what we could live without. After we met, he completed extensive measurements and then asked if he could have a few of his team come to my home and evaluate prior to presenting the estimate.
That was different for us as the other bids I had received no one else asked to do that. Matt explained that especially when remodeling older homes (ours was built in the 70’s) he wanted to make sure he captured everything so that we had no surprises in the end. After that process was completed, he presented everything to us. Not only was his estimate very fair, he presented us with a project calendar that indicated what would happen in my kitchen everyday!
We knew what days were demolition, electrical, plumbing, dry wall etc. AND this is the best part: it was EXACTLY as it happened. We finished on time! His team of dry wallers, plumbers, painters etc. were so professional and personable. I trusted them in my house with no one home without any hesitation. They were flawless.
Throughout the process, Matt would send “selection updates” so we knew exactly where we were according to our allowances for counter tops etc. We also decided to enhance our original plan by adding in additional painting, plumbing etc. This addition was very easy for him to mange and again, this did not even cause us a delay in completion. Working with Matt Wright was easy, his communication was excellent and I have a beautiful kitchen that I am proud to show off! he listened to what we wanted and never tried to “up-sell” our needs. We are very very glad we chose Matt Wright and will for sure use him again!

We found Matt honest and responsible, willing to do whatever he could to give us the updated master bathroom we wanted. After listening to us and showing us pictures of other bathroom remodels that he has done, Matt provided us with a complete summary of costs for goods and services and explained everything to us, patiently answering all of our questions. He wasn’t the cheapest bid we got, but we found his bid the most believable. There were no hidden costs, or last minute increases. The work began on schedule and Matt showed up everyday on time and with a crew of workmen that were responsible, punctual and professional. From the beginning, prepping our stairway to the final painting, Matt was in charge, kept us informed, and knew exactly what needed to be done. He was pickier than we were!
We are totally pleased with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to use him again!

I was told it would take four weeks and that was exactly how long it took. The workers were here on time and when they said they would be here, they were. They took great strides to keep our house clean as they walked through to the bathroom area. They even took off there shoes everytime they came in from outside which in some cases was numerous times.

The workers were polite and went out of there way to please us even doing small things other than what they were hired to do. Matt Wright was here everyday making sure the work was being done to perfection and keeping us informed. He explained everything and when it was not working, he would correct or give us alternatives on how to correct it without increasing cost.
Overall it was a great experience and our new bathroom is just beautiful, and we owe all our happiness to Matt Wright of The HomeWright LLC. They also replaced 80% of all our windows in our home and again total satisfaction.Botton line, The HomeWright is a very well managed company that prides itself in total client happiness. His associates are in the top caliber of their occupation and are skilled in client happiness also. It is amazing how Matt has brought this team of professionals together. If you are looking at remodeling, I highly recommend The HomeWright.

We hired Matt Wright to completely remodel our master bath. We selected Matt as we felt that he took time to understand what we were looking for, offered his ideas and suggestions and provided us with a very detailed estimate. As we anticipated selecting some upgrades throughout the process (tile, stone, fixtures, etc.), knowing the details of the bid allowed us to make informed decisions in selecting upgrades while staying within our overall budget. Our overall experience was outstanding.

All of his crews were very professional and respectful of our home. Matt provided a detailed schedule at the beginning of the project so we would know which crews would be on-site each day. During the project, some supplies were delayed, but Matt worked diligently to keep the overall project on schedule and was very considerate of the inconvenience a master bath remodel can be for homeowners.
Our bathroom project was rather extensive. The end-result exceeded our expectations. While we did our homework and were well-prepared for the remodeling, Matt gave us a lot of great ideas that we were able to incorporate.
I would definitely recommend Matt for similar projects and would work with him again on future home improvement projects.

This was the best experience we ever had! Matt came in and looked at the space and then got our ideas. He then put together a VERY detailed proposal that laid out each step, timing and cost along with a picture of the room… He is the only contractor that sent a thank you note for allowing him to bid the project and state how much he would enjoy the work. He felt like a trusted friend from day one!

He also had allowances for items like lighting and flooring which we could increase/decrease according to our tastes. His proposal was the only one to take advantage of the alcoves in the room, which were tricky and other contractors told us it would just be cheaper to close them off. Matt designed built in shelves in one of the alcoves and a dress up changing area in the other.
Matt bid on the job to finish out a bonus room next to our daughter’s room. The room is 10×15 and we received several bids from contractors. We wanted to drywall the room to get maximum usage while also making it a comfortable space for the kids to play and hang-out in. The bids we received ranged in price from $3,500 – $16,000 with contractors who had very different ideas of what would be entailed. We learned a lot from the different proposals and while we could have done it cheaper, it would not have been the same and I am certain it would not have been done on time and on budget as it was with HomeWright.
Matt stuck exactly to the schedule and cost proposal exactly – when he said he would be there, he was there. His team, though they are subcontractors, are like his employees. They were very professional, polite and you could barely tell they were in the house. They showed up when they said they would, did their work and then cleaned up each night before they left. Matt was very accessible and we would usually reach him on our first try. When we had to leave a message, he would call us back usually within the hour. Very responsive, very patient and completely concerned with our satisfaction and happiness.
We are so happy with the way the room turned out and our girls love the space. Everything in the process was so easy and we are still amazed on how each day the assigned task was completed and the whole job was finished within the estimate. We look forward to using Matt again in the future.

We are very pleased with the quality of the work, including gutters, siding, windows and paint. We have received numerous positive comments on the work from neighbors and walkers. We’re a dual-income household and Matt made sure we were aware of when workers would be in the house. We had complete trust in Matt, his staff, and subcontractors.

We contacted Matt concerning exterior paint, siding, windows, doors, and gutters. He was clear on when he could fit us into his schedule. I had assumed it would be best to reside the entire house, but Matt recommended replacing siding on only two sides of the house, which saved considerable cost. He also recommended that only two windows needed to be replaced, and we agreed to replace the main front door and all gutters. Matt provided a very detailed proposal and spent the time with us to understand our needs and wants and to make sure we understood what was included in the proposal and how cost was determined.
During the project, we also had Matt coordinate the installation of a new island countertop, cook top and built-in double oven on a time and material basis. We also had an unknown amount of termite / rot damage on one corner of the house prior to the start of the project. Matt was very clear on how this would be handled and assured us he would be fair in time and material charges once the extent of the issue was identified. The Porter Paint consultant then walked us through the color selection process, Matt worked with us on door, counter top and appliance selections, and we were on our way.
Matt is an excellent, pro-active communicator and kept us abreast of slight adjustments to schedule and status of all work. When we did have questions, he quickly returned text, e-mail and calls if he was not immediately available. He gave us clear timelines for decisions on paint, window and appliance choices and also made sure we met our timelines to keep the project on track.
We were pleased that he met the original estimate of when our project would start and finish. The extent of the termite / rot damage was identified once siding was removed, and Matt was indeed very fair on time and material charges.

This our third project with Matt. He never rushes you. He carefully worked with us to develop design plans (actual blue print drawings) for our screened porch and stamped concrete patio/sidewalk.
He arranged for us to see an example screened porch similar to the one we were planning to confirm what we were doing. He arranged wood samples so we knew for sure what the porch interior would look like. Once plans were finalized, Matt arranged the necessary permit. Matt communicates often and clearly so we know what should be done when.

Our project went very smooth. The porch was built using normal home construction methods including inserting the ridge beam INTO the house wall rather than using cheap brackets to attach it TO the house. All work is high quality with lots of attention to detail. For example, the ceiling is tongue and groove redwood; there are a couple of darker boards that became a stripe that carries up into the sky light opening and back out across the other side of the ceiling. Matt’s crew does a great job picking up any mess.
For the stamped concrete work, samples were made to show us the color and pattern to make sure it was what we want. After the initial set of samples were made, we had a second set made to confirm the colors were right. We were given a couple chances to make revisions to the layout of the concrete to make absolutely sure it was what we wanted. Be patient with stamped concrete….it looks horrible the first night after it is poured, but looks great after they get to work with it the second day which is the normal process.
Overall we have a gorgeous screened porch made with quality materials and finishes. We are extremely happen with our project!
Fall 2011
Matt Wright is great to work with. He is knowledgeable and communicates well. Matt provides a detailed written proposal of what is going to be done including the materials to be used. He explains all of the details and clearly answered all my questions so that I fully understood all the work being done (I am detail oriented).
Matt even tried to have the materials placed to be the least inconvenient to us as possible. The work crew is always prompt and picks up after themselves. The crew has great pride in the work they do and want to make sure the customer is happy. The painters even came on Saturday once to make sure all the trim was painted before the gutters and down spouts were installed and again to touch up a couple spots (including an edge he had to disassemble part of the door to get to). The work performed was all high quality. Throughout the construction Matt communicated with me so I knew what had been done and the plan going forward. I am very satisfied
Fall 2010
I quoted three contractors for this job. Matt was the only one to spend any time on the initial phone call to understand what the job really was and to develop a common understanding between us. Matt was on time for his appointment to discuss the job.
We talked through options for windows (I had already selected the brand I wanted, but he offered an alternative he felt would be less expensive and equally good.) and for a funny roof segment above both sets of casement windows. Matt came out to discuss the quote he developed. He provides a formal written quote detailing the work to be done and significant detail on the materials to be used (for example, caulk brand and model and flashing materials). Matt had the window sales representative come out confirm the measurements to make sure there will be no issues later.
A couple of days after we agreed to do the casement windows and siding I decided to also have the three large windows done. He promptly came out and brought his window sales representative because these windows originally were the fixed half of a sliding door and were installed non-traditionally. The three of us discussed options (window types, sizes, and how to properly trim out the inside) and they prepared revised quotes. Because these additional windows are so unusual, Matt asked if he could remove some interior trim to make sure the correct windows were ordered. The sales rep and his boss came for this inspection also. They confirmed how the old windows were constructed and formulated a plan for the interior trim.
The installation was very smooth. The temperature ranged between 5 and 25 the days they were working on the windows. The crew was careful to close doors where possible to keep the cold out and worked quite quickly to close the house back up. They cleaned up every night and never made a big mess. Everyone was very polite and friendly. The work performed seems to be very high quality.
Through the whole process Matt kept me informed of progress and the plan going forward. Any time I had a question Matt was happy to answer and to make sure I was happy with the work performed. We very much enjoyed working with Matt and his crew.

Our experience was excellent. Matt made sure we completely understood the project. He explained some of the potential pitfalls that could occur once the wall was opened up… The workers that were in our house treated it with care. Each day they cleaned up after themselves and respected our home. Overall the experience was great. We will use The HomeWright again for our projects.

One of those “pitfalls” happened when a framers nail accidentally nicked a pipe in the wall creating a small leak that damaged some dry wall. Matt made sure the repair was made immediately and at no cost to us. You would never know that there had been a leak. All of the sub contractors that were in the house were polite, friendly and professional. We felt comfortable having them in the house. They all cleaned up after themselves. They all made the extra effort to make sure that our A/C was turned off during their work so that as little dust as possible was spread throughout the house.
We really appreciated his honesty. He came up with some great ideas to help us save money and still accomplish our goals (pantry). All the vendors he suggested were easy to work with and we found what we were looking for with them. We did use 1 vendor outside of his list (granite). We had a previous business relationship with them and wanted to use their product if possible. Matt accommodated this–no problem.
Todd (electrician) even let our dog in and out during the day. He was great!! Matt was also very patient with us when we were having trouble deciding on a paint color. Each day we had more and more colors on the wall, we were sure we were driving him nuts. He hung in there and kept putting more samples up until we found the one we wanted.

My wife and I had been toying with remodeling our master bath for years. We’ll we finally did it using “The HomeWright”. From start to finish it was all in plain view. Matt first started with a creative meeting to see what we were looking for and to get ideas of his own. He had a methodical approach that was very succinct.
Once he had taken our feedback, Matt came back to us with a concise plan and execution model. We had to leave a portion out (our closet) as it exceeded our budget. No problem, Matt re-quoted just the bathroom and it was right in line with were we needed to be. Matt laid out steps to follow…which vendors to meet with and in what order.
With two kids, dogs and life in general… this was reassuring. We never had any concern of the HomeWight people being in our home while we were gone at work and school. His contractors were all courteous and worked on the timeline Matt promised. We even had a family emergency that forced his crew to start a week late. He took that in stride.
Lastly, we are next going to complete a kitchen remodel. We already have “our guy”. His low pressure sales technique and willingness to come in at a budget that we can work with has made this decision easy. Being in the service business I know how important it is.
Thank you Matt!
